Description
Contemporary research is rapidly changing the diagnosis, treatment, and outcome of breast cancer. Widely considered the standard reference on all aspects of breast care, Dr. Susan Love’s Breast Book reflects the most current—and increasingly optimistic—findings on this vital topic.

These include improved diagnostic tests, new paths to prevention, highly targeted therapies, partial breast radiation, and hormone approaches such as aromatase inhibitors. Most heartening are the new statistics on the benefits of chemotherapy for early stage breast cancer,  Dr. Love’s own research into “stopping breast cancer at its source” (the milk ducts), new treatments for metastatic breast cancer and new data on preventing recurrence and improving the quality of life for those living with breast cancer.

In the warm, supportive, and utterly candid tone that has brought confidence to millions of women, Dr. Lee helps each reader plan her own path through diagnosis, treatment options, clinical trials and second opinions. This new and completely updated edition continues to be the most essential, reliable, and reassuring guide for every woman worried about, or living with, breast cancer.
